Boiler cleaning, TETO Sisak

The plant surface required thorough cleaning to remove accumulated impurities such as corrosion, weld slag, dust, and burn residues—particles that, once detached from the surface, could potentially damage equipment and systems downstream of the boiler's steam output.

Using AEKS’s own specialized equipment and chemical solutions, these impurities were effectively removed. Inhibited acids were then applied to the cleaned surfaces to induce the controlled oxidation of iron in the base material, forming a stable passivating layer. This layer provides long-term protection against corrosion. The boiler was treated through three separate circulation circuits, with the chemical cleaning process carried out according to a schedule jointly agreed upon by the client and AEKS.

Wastewater generated during the chemical treatment was transferred to AEKS’s wastewater treatment plant, where it was processed to meet all environmental standards. Upon completion, an inspection by the client confirmed the high quality of the cleaning process and the formation of a uniform, corrosion-resistant magnetite layer—allowing the boiler to be safely and efficiently put into operation.
